Our story began in 2012 when founders Kiril and Josefin created their first drinking chocolate tailored to the speciality coffee scene in Melbourne. With focus on the highest quality ingredients and pure flavour of cacao, it upended the city’s expectation on cafe hot chocolates and set a new standard.
The first Mörk drinking chocolate was made with 70% cacao. Working closely with producers that value preservation of heirloom cacao and organic farming methods, and improving the livelihood of cacao farmers.
By opening our first venue in North Melbourne we created a testing ground for ways to elevate the drinking chocolate experience. Beginning with drinks like our iconic Campfire Chocolate, made to evoke a nostalgic memory of hot chocolate by the fire, the brand got recognised world wide.
Having our own bakery adds another exciting part to our story, offering pastries and cakes using fresh local produce and our bean to bar chocolate that is made in the Mörk Chocolate Foundry in North Melbourne.
Today Mörk has five stores in Melbourne, supplies cafes around Australia as well as in the UK, Europe and Japan, adding to the world wide reputation of Melbourne’s specialty cafe culture.
