First released in 1977, the Style 36—aka the Old Skool™—was just the second skate shoe Vans ever made, and the first to feature the iconic SideStripe™.

Today, they're celebrating this unending connection with the Premium Old Skool™ Music Collection, featuring three unique capsules inspired by different eras and genres of music. The Punk Capsule features a bold leopard print and standout solids that represent the original colorways first adopted by early punk and hardcore musicians in the ’70s and ’80s. The Warped Tour Capsule pops with always-on checkerboard, two-tones, and flame prints to celebrate the early-2000s, when spiked hair and bleached tips reigned supreme. The Hip Hop Capsule features vibrant colours on gum soles that call back to sought-after colorways from the 2010s when underground hip hop took the Old Skool™ to new places.

The Premium Old Skool™ is also built with modern refinements that take it to the next level. The Premium build features the enhanced cushioning of our soft and removable Sola Foam ADC insoles for all-day comfort. The upgraded footbed and materialisation results in a seamless fit, while the glossy sidewalls, higher foxing tape, and archival branding honour the original details of ’90s-era Vans footwear.
